about
It Might Be Easier, the second single from the NYC trio Sixty shows why all three members also perform and collaborate frequently with icons (Iggy Pop), critically acclaimed indie artists (Bonobo) and Grammy winners (Esperanza Spalding).
"I don't care if you live or die." The opening line from the band's newest single was originally written in 2019 to describe a deeply complicated personal relationship. However as the events of the past year unfolded, that lyric began to resonate in an entirely new way, evoking an indifference towards human life that has become the central issue dividing so many Americans.
The song's grim lyrics are in stark contrast to the breezy feeling of the music behind them. Combining airy harmonies reminiscent of the Beach Boys and a rolling groove that harkens back to the heyday of Laurel Canyon recordings, It Might Be Easier sets a warm sound against a bleak narrative.
